Fiber optic pigtail refers to a connector similar to a half jumper used to connect fiber optic and fiber optic couplers, which includes a jumper connector and a section of fiber optic. Or it can be connected to transmission devices and ODF racks.
Tail fiber is an important component of optical communication systems, mainly used to achieve two functions: interconnecting optical ports between devices and interconnecting fiber cores between devices and optical cables. Unlike conventional cables, the tail fiber core wire has the characteristics of easy breakage and weak tensile resistance, and there is currently no mature on-site processing plan for interface components, making it impossible to produce tail fibers with appropriate length based on actual distance on site.
Therefore, in practical applications, tail fibers are usually processed and manufactured in the factory according to a certain nominal length series. During on-site installation and construction, engineering personnel can choose tail fibers that are longer than the actual distance length. Due to the characteristics of discrete length and easy damage of tail fibers, tail fiber reeling is the core link in the installation, return, and storage of tail fibers.
